Had some lamb chops that were perfect in every way. The seasoning, the meat temperature, the char! Everything was on point. The rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked, salad was fresh and crisp, and the hummus was spot on. Owners are amazing people and have great taste in music to enjoy while you dine. Don’t forget to get dessert!

I've been hearing a lot of buzz about this place and let me say that I'm absolutely impressed. I'll start off with the atmosphere which gives off a comfortable homey relaxed setting, beautiful decor and very clean. Then there's the owners, a lovely married couple who are both absolutely kind and welcoming as well as took the time to explain their menu options to us which is an added bonus. Lastly, THE FOOD, when I tell you that my palate went home happy, I don't mean it as hyperbole, the food was delicious down to the preparation of freshly cut vegetables to the well cooked protein to the insanely good flavors of hummus (9 flavors!) to the unbelievably thrilling Sicilian potato salad. The reviews on here don't do this place justice and Yelp is definitely hiding reviews because this place should have dozens by now, so I'm hoping my review can help drum up more well deserved business for them. Will definitely be going back soon to try other tantalizing menu items. Thank you for the wonderful experience. I'll be telling everyone.

This is genuinely one of my favorite Mediterranean places in the Downtown LB area. The food is delicious, the flavors are always on point, and every dish is made with love. You can tell the recipes come from true Mediterranean culture and roots, nothing feels watered down or generic. It honestly beats any other Mediterranean spot in the area and is definitely a hidden gem! You can feel the pride behind the food and customer service, I highly recommend if you are in the area!

Saffron Mediterranean Grill is hands down some of the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had and I’ve had plenty! We tried the lamb and chicken kabobs, and they were absolutely out of this world. The proteins were cooked to perfection- juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The rice was fluffy and seasoned beautifully, and the salad was topped with rich spices that created a flavor explosion in every bite. And the hummus? Simply amazing! Creamy, smooth, and perfectly balanced. This was easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Long Beach. On top of the incredible food, it’s family-owned, which makes supporting them even more meaningful. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and try it- you will not be disappointed!

Tucked in an alley or plaza. Hidden from passers by. Only one man preparing but he managed it well. It was great timing as it was not busy yet. Food was delicious and good serving.

August 2025 Finally got to check out Saffron's Gyro & Kebab Wraps. I am often skeptical because the wrap can be too thick and gets soggy, etc. But I am happy to report that these wraps were delicious and probably the best I've ever had. My friend got the Gyro which has similar meat to the Kebab that I got but it's thin slices of meat. I prefer the Kebab which is thicker like a sausage. The hummus, lettuce, pickles inside were great. The secret sauce was delicious. The wrap thin and did not get soggy. Check out my pics! I opted for the salad but my friend got the fries and I knew I would grab a few. Their fries are so GREAT. Hot, crisp and good size. If you're starving - definitely get the fries. They'll put you over the top. Service great as usual and again, I love the real glassware and china. Yes, it's a casual place and in a quiet alcove but this presentation gives a nice cafe ambiance. I should ask if one can bring an alcoholic beverage! July 2025 Ordered take-out. Great Fattoush salad. Just what I needed. Good size portions. My friend ordered the chicken shawarma plate (again). He loves it. Mid July 2025 My second great meal here! The lamb kebab was delicious! Nice chunks of lamb grilled to perfection. The chef gave us the opportunity to try his falafel! So good! Brought friends tonight! Two of my friends had the chicken shawarma plate and found the meat tender and juicy. One friend had the beef shawarma and also loved it. Pita bread better than the rice or vice versa? We couldn't decide. But BTW they do have awesome fries! And yes, of course, they do take out but the patio is very pleasant. And again, they serve on real plates! June 2025. Have just tried this place once but it was fantastic and we'll be back. Set back @ 245 Pine Avenue in the alcove on the west side it's fairly casual but they spiff it up by providing real glasses and china plates! Food is very good. I would definitely go back for their falafels! So yummy, so fresh, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We ordered the Falafel side and the Mediterranean Plate. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of good food.

I love Mediterranean food, so I always look for a spot wherever I travel — and Saffron did not disappoint. I ordered the Kasteleta, and the lamb chops were tender, juicy, and not fatty at all. The portions were generous and very satisfying. My husband had the beef kebab, which was also amazing. Our lunch for two, with two refreshers, came to $60, which felt very fair for the quality. Definitely coming back!

Amazing little place right in downtown Long Beach. Service was excellent and fast. Food was incredible. Their hummus is some of the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend if you are near the convention center!
